Some of you may not have noticed due to some kind of election which is apparently happening this month, although this month is actually Movember - the month when the men of the world can unite and reject the social stigma attached to the most sophisticated of facial growths - the Mustache!

No doubt some of you will be sporting your new look at this very moment in time. You may have noticed that people now look to you for moral guidance, and feel calmer when you're around because no matter what happens, you could handle it...

For those of you Mo-Bro's out there, I wanna see your progress so far. Unfortunately, I appear to have the testosterone of a 12 year old girl although I'm hanging on the hope that - like the ugly duckling - mine will flourish into something wonderous to behold..

My Mo

Movember raises a huge amount of money for research areas relating to mens health, and hopefully some of you can support it in one way or another. Whether it be growing your own Mo, donating to the cause, or simply by passing on the word and in doing so - raise awareness!

The same old face gets boring, so Movember is a good excuse to change it for a while.

Hey Slippy! Not that your current profile pic isn't cute or anything, but what happened to that brooding dark-haired pic with the big ol' stache on him?

It went away for halloween, and since I'm no longer a paying member, don't have portfolio space for it. I'll have a copy buried deeply in my archives somewhere, but don't think it'll come out again. Maybe I'll make a new one now that I've shed nearly 60 pounds.

Would be a good time to grow a mustache and beard, especially considering the added warmth it would provide me for the winter cycling season.

What about wind resistance?

There is the incognito factor. I always consider November the best month to rob a bank, as the goatee will be gone in December. It's just the balance of November that I have to lay low.

Not much of an issue until I work off the rest of this gut. Got about 45 pounds to go.

Really? Those things add warmth? Might work in Texas but not so sure about Canuckistan in the middle of winter.

Can't do this. I have had a mustache since 1976, that was the last time I was fully shaved. Marge and I have been married for over 30 years and she has yet to see me without one. I was going to shave it off for the 30th but I chickened out.

Having lived in Limestone, Maine for over 5 years a mustache does not work well in cold weather. It grows icicles and when you accidently pull on them they hurt! The beard part would help with the chin though.
