| Stone (if I'm right) plates are often used in conjunction with fireplaces for obvious reasons. Is it a chimney access plate or fireplace door? |

Nope. Not a sand mold, nor the product of one.
The item this is a part of was molded to be sure. I'm also sure the mold would have been metal.
Another hint: The item is rather flexible, though it does not flex much during use. It leads a tough life, and if the elephant were alive, (s)he'd be pretty dizzy a lot of her/his life. |
