I'm looking into backblaze.com and wondering if the DPC users are still recommending them.

I'm trying the free trial right now.

I use it. It saved my butt when my hard disk died. It is easy -- you just set it up and forget it.

But there are a couple of things that are less than ideal. When you start, and you have a lot of data to back up -- it takes literally weeks before it gets all backed up. Then, if you have to then restore it also takes forever. When restoring it I got anxious that it was taking so long to restore. I just wanted to have all my pictures back safe. So, I broke down an paid something like $200 for them to send me a drive with my backup on it. You do get to keep the external hard drive that they send.

Have it. Like it. Recommend it. It works quietly in the background and you can't beat the price.

This sounds good to me. About a year ago I bought an external hard drive, with good intentions to use it, but I'm such a procrastinator it's still in its box. And I don't know when I last put anything on CD. I like the sound of automatic - it could just be this particular lazy woman's solution.

I also use it and have same sentiment. Yes the initial backup takes weeks but once it's done the incremental backups do not take so long.

I've been backing up non-stop for 24 hours I think. I'm glad to know other people are still happy with them.

Once my main drive is backed up, I will back up my carbon-copy clone drive and then I will migrate all my images from the main drive onto another external drive that I will back up as well.

Feels good to be proactive... And to clear up my main drive. I suppose editing software will run much slower if I keep all my images on an external drive though. Hmmmm.
