What I want to know is who watches the debates and is swayed by the gobbledygook they spew?

It's scripted intercourse where one candidate is simply trying to get the headline zinger to thwart his opponent. It's simply political porn.

I tend to stay out of the online political debates, but I agree with this statement.

Personally, I thought Obama was a bit wonky and not aggressive enough, but he looked presidential and kept his cool, took the high road for the most part, asked tough questions of Romney( ie. "how you gonna pay for that?" - to which Mitt said "pay no attention...")

Romney looked a bit edgy, jittery even, trying to provoke a fight or a bad response- Obama didn't engage.

That's just it. He didn't bring up the 47%, he didn't bring up other stupid things. He tried to keep it on a debate level, and they're saying he lost because of it. He didn't have the good zingers.

That's so incredibly sad. Too bad you can't get ahead by staying above the back biting and name calling.

Obama looked like a lost child...Not like the strong leader that a president should be. Obama didn't have his tele-prompter to help him out...

The free-for all freak show that was the Republican debates spoiled everyone for honest debate. I mean, with a field like Rick Perry and Herman Cain, Michelle Bachman, Newt and Santorum- all bets are off and people were cheering for death panels and the abolishment of the federal government.

I thought people were against bickering and negativity- and I guess we will find out what the undecided people think soon enough.

A fundamental error on the GOP side is the ludicrous Fox News notion that Obama, can't speak without a teleprompter. If anything he came off as "above the average voters head." You could feel the awkwardness when he praised Romneycare as being "exactly" Obamacare- and I guess Romney weaseled his way out of the

Truth is, it is difficult to win a debate against someone you feel is not being truthful and just says whatever to get elected. Pundits jumped on Al Gore for rolling his eyes and audibly reacting to W's claims, so its tough to win for losing.

Unfortunately for the Romney campaign, high fives from like minded facebook friends does not equal convincing swing voters to vote for him, much less that he won't repeal the mortgage interest deduction.

Just head over to Politifact. Both of them have transparent teeth with the lies they tossed around last night.

The problem, as I see it, is that is is equivalent to interviewing your new chef by asking him to paint your house.

Debates are fine and fun and all, but they are an art unto themselves, and rarely is anything said that will actually be held to in the future. Frankly it's a stupid dog and pony show that only serves to distract the public.

Lowered... HA!

So, is it fun watching the dog chase it's tail? Pick the head, or the tail, it doesn't really matter anyway, since it's all still the same dog.

i didn't get that at all. He look pretty coherent to me.

He is a very good speaker, he thinks about what he is about to say, i just dont agree with his ideas, but to say he looked lost is incorrect, he looked anything but.

Biden has his military facts wrong....2 tours to Iraq tells me this
10/11/2012 10:10:42 PM · #45
Biden has now admitted that Libya and Syria are two different countries. I don't think I would have lasted the night without that info.

ugh, why ruin this good debate with boring social issues.
10/11/2012 10:19:53 PM · #47
i love how the tone changes and they both get quiet and start peaking slowly and calmly with discussing religion.

Yes, because Romney's shown a spectacular hand here.
