Now I'm all for giving a guy a second chance, but really, this gives me the creeps.

Frankly I'm more worried about the iPad he's holding than the dog. It looks like those floors are hardwood.

He's legally permitted to own one, so if we don't dispute that fact, and can agree he's paid his debt to society, the question we have to ask ourselves is, "Is that enough?" And to ask that question is to ask ourselves the following questions:

1. What is the purpose of sentencing?
(a)If it is to punish, have we punished him enough?
(b)If it is to rehabilitate, do we think such a thing is possible in cases of dog fighting rings, and if it is possible, is Vick rehabilitated?

2. Should he pay for the rest of his life, or do we think enough of him/people in general to believe that a person can change? If people can change, and Vick can change, why is it outrageous that he has a dog for the sake of his children and as a learning experience for them and him?

I think what he did is reprehensible, but he's done his time, and if the courts didn't see fit to disallow single dog ownership for him, who are we to say differently?

Agree... he has earned the right to have a dog. I am a dog owner and I have no issue with it. His children deserve to have a dog, right?

As a Redskins fan I do hope that the dog knocks him down the stairs and sprains his ankle or something...

I have to agree with friscaviews in this regard. He was tried, found guilty, sentenced and met the court imposed penalties... legally he has paid his debt to society.

For those who would make reference to moral issues, we must also take into consideration that in some places, fights involving dogs, cocks, and bulls are considered sporting activities.

I am not suggesting that these actions are justifiable, but this is something that ought to be taken into consideration when engaging in our analysis of the situation.

at some point you say to yourself, "you know, this probably isn't a good idea". Of course its not like he's ever shown good judgement either.
