Greetings E-10 users,
(OK E-20 users too) :)
In the setup, the amount of sharpness is adjustable: Hard, Normal & Soft, and contrast adjustable: High, Normal & Low. I have read a few user reports of varying opinions as to how they set theirs up.
What have you found? Sharpness on Soft & Contrast on Normal? (supposedly less in camera processing that way)
Thanks in advance. |

you should go with soft sharpness and low contrast if you want the camera to do the least amount of processing.
Then it's up to you to post process it |

hi. i had an e-10 for a long time .. i tried all different settings and ultimately, i preferred contrast and sharpness set to 'normal' .
sometimes i would set sharpness to 'high' ..
i would recommend playing with it. maybe try the same subject with all the combinations, and see which you prefer.

After extensive experimenting with my E-20, I leave both settings on Normal. YMMV

Thanks for the info all.
I have taken several thousand shots with an E-10, and I think the jury is still out on this one. Sometimes I think it makes a difference, other times I don't see what the difference was. I set up the camera and would take brackets of the same shot with different settings. Sometimes adjusting the sharpness to hard seemed to help, but other times it looked like it added noise to the shot.
Hmmm..... |

| I keep Sharpness on Soft & Contrast on Low.... seems like less noise is apparent. |

I keep mine on normal. It is a fine middle of the road. High is too much for some situations.
