Are we talkin' bout the rock, or what's growing on it... 'cause I believe what's growing on it is lichen.
ETA: or it's a rock with yellow cake uranium residue :-P

I think the right answer here is both. And it's not lichen. :) |

That yellow stuff looks like sulfur/sulphur. But apparently I'm not good at this stuff. So I'll say it's an igneous rock from about over 20,000 years ago
Fail :)

Yeah, repost it or I will post a pic of this clear, viscous liquid substance that is endlessly running out of my nose today. :( |
Never mind... I want Art's picture instead... We can all guess what sort of infection he has.
ETA: I'm going with Gonorrhea? |

Well, technically it's not - but that was the answer I'm looking for.
There's some yellowcake here, and a bit of Torbernite and few other secondary uranium minerals, but this is largely composed of primary hot-ass uraninite.
I don't even like handling this one, but I figured it might give Art a chance to be right.. :)
I bought this out of a collection that was donated to the mineral museum, not quite display grade (for them anyway), but way too radioactive for sale to the general public, this little baby is HOT. |

C'mon now. As long as he washes his hands VERY well with soap, it'll be fine. |
