To all those who live in the NYC area and those who are planning on visiting.. If you have ever found yourself stuck between a Cop and his horse ;), Print this out and carry it with you.

Given that it's a photographic image, it shouldn't be too hard to add a couple more clauses, like
"Officers violating this order shall report directly to jail ΓΆ€” do not pass Go, do not collect $200 ..." |

more tripod regulations. unfortunately a tripod is a nice obvious thing for law makers and enforcers to draw the line at. |

A similar document was drafted by by Merseyside Police a few years ago, although it generally seems Security Officers are the main problem as opposed to the Police.
A handy document to have and I have one in my camera bag just incase, never needed it yet though. |

After being chased by rail staff and British Transport Police last week whilst trying to get a shot for the train tracks entry, I have visited the Network Rail, Virgin Trains, and Merseyrail websites and printed off all their bits about "welcoming" photography etc (within certain safety guidelines). I have printed them all off and now carry them in my bag for next time (along with the Merseyside Police one). |
