I had a bit of luck and won $330USD today. I haven't bought or gotten anything (gifts) in about 2 years due to the whole single parent thing so I am going to splurge with this. So what should I get?
Software I am pretty much set. CS5 and topaz, Nik etc... so no need for that. I have been looking at getting a 85mm 1.8 lens for awhile so should I just go with that?
I have the following:
Canon 5DMII
Canon 17-40mm f4
Canon 50mm 1.4
Canon 70-200mm 2.8 IS
2 Alien Bees B800
2 430ex flashes
I mainly shoot portraits and no doubt the 85 is a sweet looking lens but, considering I have the 70-200, do you think that would be my best option for the little bit of cash I have?
Any other suggestions? |

Do you have backdrops and a stand? I keep thinking more backdrops would be nice.
Better tripod?
Airline tickets and babysitter? |

| Yeah I have a couple backdrops and stands but rarely ever use them. I upgraded my tripod a couple years ago to a pretty nice heavy duty one. Hmm.. tickets and a babysitter sound great but that is over with in a few days :) |

yes... 85 f/1.8 ... My favorite lens in the collection.
Of course, like you said, you have the 70-200 and the 50 f/1.4...
Maybe a 100mm Macro? I know that I really LOVE that lens, and you don't have anything for macro in your kit.
ETA: It's out of your budget, but the 135 f/2 is sweet shit, especially on a full-frame.

| I had the 100mm macro and ended up selling it. It was a killer lens but I went through my macro phase pretty quick and don't miss it. It was a bit slow on focusing for my taste when not shooting macro. |

| I'm going to head to the camera store and then get food but I won't blow the money yet :) Want to see if anyone comes up with something I haven't thought of. Like I said the kids are my priority so this will probably be my only larger purchase for some time, unless the money starts rolling in lol |

You have a battery grip for that body? That's an excellent buy, but go Canon brand, I've owned both, and I know I won't buy anything else now..
Batteries on the other hand, I like from Sterling Tek, they've got yours for $23 @ 2600mah |

Damn, I was going to say triggers or the 85.
ETA: Congrats on whatever it is that you got.

The 85mm was more then I remembered ($400) so I scrapped that idea. I have radio triggers and a battery grip. Actually I have over 7k in equipment and carry it around in a $40 canon backpack and light cases so I bought a Pelican 1650 hard case with foam. It will hold my Bees and all my lenses and camera etc... and it is waterproof, shockproof and has wheels :) Great for my location work. Here is a web image.
