anyone use non-sony batteries in their f717? How does it compare to your Sony one? If you have an aftermarket battery, where did you get it?

I had a after market battery for my Sony Mavica FD97 made by Sterling, bought on Ebay. Had to send the first two back because they didn't hold a charge. So I don't recommend buying after market. It is up to you though because there have been many strides in battery technology as of late.

It's interesting that most of the non-Sony batteries have the ability to hold longer charges.

I have a non-sony battery and agree with faidoi that they hold more charge than Sony's. Don't remember the manufacturer for mine since I have had it for over a year. It is simply marked "Li-ion BATTERY"

Sony NP-FM50=1180MAH
Some but not all third party=1800MAH. Like this one.
About 45% more capacity.
Don't have any third party batteries or cards but may purchase if I do decided on the F828. We'll see.
Any good 3rd party cards anyone can recommend?

The battery I have is 1800MAH. It is my main battery and I use the Sony NP-FM50s as backups when it goes dead. The price faidoi found is good. Mine cost around $50 a year ago.
