Eric: Tivo does not display pictures in hi-def as far as I know. The Roku HD1000 device will show a lot more "detail" on an HDTV display because an HD display, by definition, has much higher resolution that standard definition TV (which is what something like a Tivo produces). See item #4 on their FAQ page.
