James,
Looks like someone who had you in their address book has gotten a virus. The virus is sending e-mail and spoofing the sender field using your info.

That's funny cuz i got a very questionable email today also.

Came from me to eiteld@nicholsal.com (yet it came into my inbox & I dunno who this is)
Subject: Returned due to virus; was:read it immediately

Had a zip file attached which i deleted.

The other day I got hit really hard by an executable virus that attached itself to my IE... i was only browsing google.

Good luck with yours.

Mm bacon does make everything better:)

To those using Outlook or Outlook express, I have the following suggestion: turn off the preview pane.
These two programs (they really are quite different) are often targeted because of their large installed base, and simply viewing an HTML-encoded message in the preview pane can launch a virus. You should therefore turn off this feature, then delete (without opening) any message you don't recognize as coming from someone familiar to you. Then immediately empty the deleted items folder.
Also, make sure your virus defnintions for your anti-virus software are updated regularly.

I get quite a few of these blank emails, Norton doesn't seem to find anything wrong with them.It has picked up all viruses thus far.

how can I shut off the preview pane? I have been getting an onslught of those kinds of emails. I know someone who got that virus & I'm sure that I've been getting them as well as everyone else in her address book. it sucks. I delete them & clean out the trash right away!

In Outlook Express, with your inbox displayed, from the menu select view/layout and uncheck the "show preview pane" option.

In Outlook 2000, with the inbox displayed, just select view and toggle the preview pane selection to off.
