Hi all

I have reverse mounted my canon kit lens. I'm wondering if there is a 'female bayonet to filter' adaptor that can be bought to stop any artefacts/dirt etc entering into the bayonet end of the lens as it's now exposed. I've search for ages and can't seem to find anything. I guess adapting (cutting a hole) the bayonet lens cap and sticking a filter to it would do the trick but I'd much rather buy an adaptor if there's one available?

Thanks in advance!

celophane stretched tightly so as to not have any creases or obscure your image?
i don't know of any adapters that exist in the capacity you're looking for.

Looks like Fotodiox makes a whole range of reversing rings, including //www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Filter-Thread-Reverse-Adapter/dp/B001G4PA36/ which at 58mm should fit the 18-55mm kit lens to a Canon EF/EF-S mount.

cellophane may work...I've had a look and with an elastic band it could be a candidate, thanks for the suggestion I hadn't thought of that. Manic, thanks for the link but I've already reversed the lens so have a reversing adaptor, I'm looking to protect the bayonet end of the lens as it's now exposed due to being reversed. Thanks guys

Ah, that makes a bit more sense :) I'd suggest something simple - get an old lens rear cap, and cut out the center/cut off the top, which should leave you with a ring that'll attach to the bayonet end without blocking the optics.
