I seem to have gotten along ok so far. No surprises today. I didn't even give it any thought until I saw this thread.
Of course, we still have a few minutes left for things to get out of hand.

Learned today that our house repair... mostly new replacement windows, for those destroyed in the fire .... will take two months to complete. The wildfires in Colorado, over for now, continue to hit hard those of us affected. We are in limbo. Living out of a suitcase, but locked into our local business peak season. Depending on the kindness of friends. We'll recover, but it looks a bit depressing at this point. |

Sorry about that! It really sucks to be in limbo. I'm in limbo right now too, but a totally different kind. At least you have friends to depend on, plenty of people don't. |

Sorry to hear that, Kelli. I hope things work out. Richard, sounds like things at least are moving in the right direction for you... |

Thanks Bear. I hope so too. I'll post more about my situation later, after I process it a bit more. It's just really bugging me out right now. I want to go to bed but I can't get my mind to shut off. |

I've been having back problems the past couple months. It's been completely random, I don't do anything at the time for the pain to start. It just does. So Tuesday I went for a routine doctors appointment (I have to go every six months due to the amount of meds I take for different health issues). And I mentioned the back pain. When it happens, it feels like someone hit me in the back with a sledgehammer. It hurts to stand, to walk, to bend, to lay, and it hurts to even touch the area with the lightest touch. It was so bad the last time, I was looking for a bruise in the mirror but couldn't see anything. So the doctor ordered an X-ray of my lower spine. I went late Wednesday and had that done. I was told it would be about a week before I heard anything. What I was expecting to hear was that arthritis (which runs terribly in my family) had set in. But the phone call I received from the doctor yesterday morning was a little different. She said I have an abdominal aortic aneurysm. They can pick it up on an x-ray, but can't tell anything about it. She wanted me to come pick up a prescription and referral to go get an ultrasound to find out how big it is, and whether there is any fluid. These things don't usually cause symptoms until they are bad. I didn't have a car yesterday (hubby took it to work) so I told her I'd pick it up Monday. She seemed a little hyped but not unduly freaking out or anything, so I figure it's not an emergency. After reading about it on the internet and scaring myself silly I'm sorry I didn't have a relative come pick me up & take me to get what I needed to go get it done. The doctor advised if the pain comes back & is any worse to go to the ER. So I'm in limbo until I get this test done hopefully Monday (as long as I can get in) or Tuesday at the latest. |

Listen to the doctor, if it gets worse, go to the ER immediately.. But, in the mean time, do try to relax and enjoy your weekend, it's really all you can do.
Sorry to hear about this, and I do hope that you feel great all weekend and can comfortably wait until Monday. Of course, I also hope everything on Monday goes well for you and this is easily resolvable.

Bad day? How about a bad week! ...
I went to the Netherlands and Belgium for business. Monday, couldn't get ATM card to work for cash only to find out each attempt was actually charged to my account. Racked-up $500+ in charges for cash I never got. Tuesday, robbed on a train in Antwerp. I lost my laptop, kindle, camera, and wallet with all credit cards etc. I was left with about a 100 euro and my passport for the rest of the week. Thursday, decide to cut trip short and return home. I had lunch in Belgium before departure to Amsterdam; only thing I had to eat all day. By the time I reached Amsterdam I was squeezing my cheeks together and running to the hotel. I spent the entire night in the bathroom. I think it was food poisoning. Friday, got home to find my wife had packed-up half of our belongings and left to start a new life in Texas. How's that for a bad week? |

I was just going to tell everyone I cracked my car windshield for the second time in a month and melted my extension cord to my leaf blower, but my day wasn't really all that bad. I'll forgo my private pity party!
In this world we will have troubles... Sorry to hear about everyone's troubles! |

It's going to be ok, kelli. Reading about it does sound scary, but if the doctor was incredibly worried about it, she would have told you to immediately go to the ER. Relax. Take it easy. Use it as an excuse to really pamper yourself this weekend, and get in right away on monday. (And update us on monday!!!)
It's going to be ok. |

Well DJ that might explain why the card wouldn't work. At least it ended well. |

Heh. I had a bunch of silly stuff happen too. I broke my glasses, my router died, I've had an allergic reaction with welts and itching to who knows what that just won't go away, my neighbors sewer is backed up all over her yard forcing me to keep all of my windows closed, I ripped my shorts on a nail on my back deck and my new cell phone wasn't working without wifi and I burned dinner (a first). But it all started with the phone call. I'm just glad yesterday is over. |

You know what - I just had some really crappy news too and it has stuffed up a lot of my plans, brought me to tears and physically made me feel quite ill in the stomach.
But reading this thread has helped me realise that I got nothin' to complain about in the scheme of things. Thank you. You guys, without even realising it, by sharing your personal woes and feelings, have helped me come back to steady ground mentally and emotionally. My thoughts and good wishes are with all of you who are having a crappy time of it.
Be strong. I hope it gets better. |

Kelli, as said, at least now you know about it. Relax, worrying is not going to change anything except make it worse.
Listen to your body, listen to your doctor and keep us posted. Love and hugs and good wishes and positive vibes and prayers, all for you!

Kelli, on the plus side, now you know what is causing you the problem and can get it fixed! (And by the way, when I saw your facebook post about your router, I initally read it as your rooster died, but you replaced it...)

ROFL! My aunt is having trouble with rooster's and would like nothing better than if they died.
Quick update... I couldn't get an appointment until Wednesday morning because they neglected to tell me I had to be fasting. The funny thing is, I was fasting, and went for bloodwork this morning, then hit DD on the way to the doctors to pick up the referral. So it will be at least a couple more days before I find out what's what. |

For anyone wondering, I had my ultrasound this morning. I take it as a good sign that the tech said the doctor would have the results by Friday instead of just calling an ambulance (and yes, that's happened to me before, LOL). So, even after all the terrible things I've read on the internet, I've delegated it in my brain to just another thing I'll need to get checked from time to time. |
