Please...! I'm trying to win a new camera bag. I thought it was a photo contest when I entered, but turns out it's a popularity contest and since you guys are my only friends, well I'm asking. Went and left you a vote, but I do have to say I'm not a fan of this sort of contest. There was one held last year to choose the poster for the WWII Weekend in Waxahachie event. I thought it was going to be chosen by those running the event. There were a number of entries from my Flickr meetup group, and I entered my highest scoring shot from DPC. A snapshot won because they got lots of family and friends to click the like button, while I wasn't even aware it was being done that way.

I know what you mean, and I feel the same. I really don't have many friends, so these things usually turn out to be a waste of time. I got the email telling me voting was open, went and looked, posted the link and voted for myself. Most people didn't have any votes at that point. But one person already had 88 votes. Now how did they do that? Did they really have that many people at the ready to vote? Or did they find some way to cheat? I don't know. I've been trying various contests to win one of the bags though, most are a random pick. Which is fine, except that there never seems to be less than a couple thousand people in the drawing for one bag. ;D

Is there a "vote" button there somewhere, or does just clicking/opening the photo add the vote?

BTW, when I went there, I found out that I have a Flikr account, and I'm still logged in, from my one post in 2008. That was a surprise.

There is the word vote directly under the picture. Not really a button, it just says vote, and you click on the word. If it worked, it will show number of votes. You can only vote once, so click it until it works. LOL! I was in third place last time I looked, but 1st & 2nd have 100 votes on me. I don't think I can catch up.

It's interesting that the "Vote" button is only there with the thumbnail index photos, but not seen when I open the photo. Maybe they expect everyone to just vote from the thumbnail page by looking at the images at thumb size.
Anyway, found the button, got it done.
