ok.. this is going to be a toughie to explain... but here we go. I'm trying to fire my SB-800 with a Cameron Radio Flash Trigger system. The cameron Radio Flash System has a quarter inch stereo plug, so to make it work with my SB-800, I had to buy a 1/4 inch stereo to PC Sync cable. The cable showed up today in the mail, i plugged it into the cameron system it fits. When I go to fire the flash I get nothing. The red light on the receiver is flashing so its getting the signal, but the flash isn't firing? any suggestions?

Is this flash working without normally without the sync cable?

Link to Manual

Could be the shot is underexposed or it is not connected correctly

really stupid question, but is the trigger mounted on the camera backwards? I have triggers, and the first time I set it up, I had it turned around in the hot shoe (yes, it fit that way, too). So they talked to each other, but didn't trigger the flash.

Another thought is, in my triggers, there are dip-switches that can be manually set. Are they set the same?

Third thought: I have to use a synch cable when I want to use the triggers as a remote shutter release. I've had difficulties with it simply because of the order in which I've plugged things in. I need to leave the trigger turned off, and plug it in to the trigger before plugging into the camera. Then turn on the trigger. (It's not that it doesn't work in a different order, but that it actually functions incorrectly -- setting off the camera multiple times until I unplug it.)

IAmEllKatz: The flash is working great if I don't use a cable and just firing it with the D700's pop up flash.

Vawendy: The Trigger is mounted in the right direction, I have an alien bee 800 as well and it works fine with the AB. On my Trigger there is only one switch for on and off.
