6.3 ridiculous, my photos worth 5.5-5.6 if that hopefully scores will normalise, I shall be voting on it as any normal challenge not with rose tinted glasses on.

I understand why some people are upset about inflated scores -- but you have to realize that these scores are just as real. They really aren't artificially inflated.

People react to photos in many different ways. They react to the subject, to the details, to the quality of the composition and the processing, but they also react emotionally.

This is a classic example:

Seriously?? 7.8? It's not that good of a photo, but it struck people's funny bone, made them laugh, and ended up on my profile -- probably for life. ;(

It's an emotional challenge, and one that means a lot for a large number of people. If we start taking the emotions out of voting, the vote wouldn't be nearly as meaningful.

So realize that people have some extra voting criteria on this challenge than they normally have for other challenges. "Is it cheerful? Will it make Shez smile? Happy colors? Joyful shot?"

But probably the biggest factor is a criteria that's used by many already: How well did they meet the challenge? In this case, making the effort, having so many entries on such a short time, will definitely play in my voting. I haven't voted yet, but I expect that I'll have a high average, simply because I think it's a wonderful challenge, and I am so incredibly pleased with the results and the love that went in to so many of the entries.

Well, here it is. A score totally out of line with reality, at least for my entry. I think it's good, but not 7+ great. I appreciate the good feelings and votes, but I would really like this to not be on my profile page. Fun to see it though.

PLEASE STOP COMPLAINING ABOUT INFLATED SCORES. THE SCORES ARE REFLECTING WHAT A GREAT PERSON THIS CHALLENGE IS FOR AND NOT NECESSARILY THE TECHNICAL PROWESS OF EVERYBODY WHO SUBMITTED.
