| Am contemplating buying a 2nd hand 5DMKii, the seller doesn't know how to check the shutter depressions - can somebody explain how to check please? |

Just posted this in another thread, ask your seller to take a picture and send you the original, unedited file (any resolution picture will do) - it will also help you confirm that the camera actually works
upload your latest unedited picture to flickr and click on Actions > View Exif info - it has a very detailed exif information, including the total shutter count.

| Well, kind of went out on a limb here, the cam is in excellent (as new condition) but couldn't get the actual shutter clicks, flickr showed 620 and was told it was just used for landscape photographer (no time lapse/film) and the seller reckoned 30,620 would be the worst scenario but could be as low as 10,620. As I'm not a prolific shooter have taken the plunge and just spent 1300CHF (£850) and reckon (hope) that's a pretty good deal. |

| That's a great deal. In my area, they are going for around $1700-1800US. Enjoy the camera. |

Sounds like a fair price, at least it would be in the US (equivalent to $1304 USD). Given that prices on your side of the pond tend to be higher, I'd say it's a good deal there.
I've been giving some thought to picking up a lightly used 5DII body as well. I really would like to have a second body, but will not spend what Canon is asking for the 5DIII, at least until prices drop some (if that ever happens).
ETA: After looking at recent sales here, that price looks even better!

Astrojargon is saying 674 clicks, I find this hard to believe, can anybody confirm that astrojargon will show more than a folder count of clicks? or should I wait until I've taken 300 pics to see if it rolls over? (or 10,300 even) |

Here's a link to a Flickr discussion that has another shutter count link, Flickr discussion link.
Hope this helps... |

Thanks Leo, the eoscount app is saying 675 as well. Am beginning to think I may have a very low shutter count unless I start using it for drip shots lol. Doesn't look as if a flash was ever attached to it and other than a 1mm mark on one of the strap loops on the body it does look as new.
Have just been playing with it for now and may reset all the functions as the previous user disabled the press shutter to focus option - had me worried for a while when I couldn't focus and had to use the af-on button lol |
