Hi,
I'm not available on Sunday May 20th, but Robert may be. I think we should both be available on May 27th. We'd would hope to coordinate this with a visit with friends who live in Mystic either the day before or the day after so I'll see if they will be around that weekend (which is Memorial day weekend, I see).

LOL I will be leaving shortly after the 10th, I might be up there on the 17th but I don't think I will.
Maybe we could just do 2 gtg's or not even call them a gtg... Just some DPC friends hanging out when we can...

I will know more once I get up there but for the most part I will be working... I would like to get some good pictures of something out of my normal but we'll see.

Peter, you live pretty close to where I will be, in the same town I think... we could get together a few times and knock out some challenges or some beers hahaha

I think your last suggestion is the best I am going to be able to do. I will be traveling a great deal during the weekends from Mid May to Mid June, so a weekend GTG is going to be out for me unfortunately. But getting together for a few shots and some beers sounds like a great plan....

Is Sunday May 27th still being considered for a GTG in CT?. I am about to write to my friends in Mystic about staying with them before or after but if that date is no longer being considered, I'll hold off. Thanks.

Just to get things started who would like to show up for a GTG on May 27th??? I now everyone can't be there but for the 27th, who can make it?

Man I love this town. There is a TON of things I can take pictures of... I took a picture of the 95 bridge the other day, I will post it soon.

Well, May 27th isn't an option for us any more :-(. Sorry not to mention this earlier, I missed the May 10th post to this thread and didn't realize May 27th was still being considered.

I think Ray is talking about Sea Swirl in Mystic. It has decent fish and chips along with ice cream and the typical drive up clam shack fare. It was featured on a couple of shows on the Food Network a few years ago (I know Rachel Ray did a piece on her 40$ a day show). It is a good place and worth a stop if in the area, just so you can get out of the car, sit at a picnic table and enjoy the 'road food' fare.

I like Costello's in Noank and Captain Scott's in New London better for the fried stuff - but you need to know how to get there. And you can drive right past Mystic Pizza...not really that great IMO.

Night shooting...hmmm.

I will need to think about that one. There are some good spots in Groton that you can shoot across the Thames River towards New London.

One is at Eastern Point Beach and at UConn Avery Point.
Eastern Point Beach park looks right out on to Ledge Light (lighthouse)

Avery Point has its own small light house that you can walk right up to.

These might be decent places for some night shooting. Let me know what types of night shooting are you after and it may spark more ideas...
