apparently if you get injured playing cards on a business trip, you are entitled to workers compensation.

Hmmm, what if you get injured photographing a deck of cards instead of working?

I got workers comp once for being injured while playing volleyball. Nothing wrong with that. I was on company time, at a company picnic that was mandatory to go to. We were bused to a remote location from our place of business and unable to leave until the buses came to collect us. I just sat there in pain with ice until it came. Then I still had to take a train back to my car and drive myself to the hospital. I blew out my knee when someone hit me with a water balloon as I was spiking the ball and landed wrong. They covered my surgery & salary while out. Nothing more. I certainly didn't think I was wrong to get it.

Well, it usually the injured worker who gets f&?$ed, but usually not literally.

...My understanding of the law is that this type of compensation is made available and payable to individuals who are injured "On the Job

I must be getting old and they changed the rules...I never got to participate in this type of work...Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
