Noticed that round one had approximately 25% more entrants in Twisted over Straight, and in round two it was about 45% more entrants. Looks like this one is starting to unfold along a similar pattern. Do people have their hate on for the straight?

I think I will keep that until it's over... but, I do have a good chance of winning a ribbon with this one ;) |

Yeah, I know the feeling, I really like this particular entry. I stumbled upon it by accident and it came as a surprise to me. So yeah, it will be a 5.2 at best... |

i think to answer your original question... to have (or find) a composition with ONLY straight lines is harder than one with just curved lines, just by virtue of entropy... most of nature is curvy, and even a lot of man-made stuff is a combo of straight and curves... so indeed the straight challenge is likely the harder one, hence less entries
at least that is my take after doing the challenge this time around
