Has anybody experienced issues with the LCD screen?
I returned one, got a second and it has the same issue - the screen has a yellow/greenish tint. The whites do not look white - on the LCD only - once I upload to the computer they look fine.

Nope... no problems with the LCD. I have however had two instances where I had problems with the mirror box in the last 14 months.

bump.
My LCD screen is yellow. I exchanged it and the second screen is yellow. The pictures look okay on the computer.
Any comments?

Hi Lynn, I am trying to understand your issue but would need more info. So is this the 5D you have had for quite a while and you are replacing the LCD screen on it? I have to assume you are pretty handy with gadgets here if you are doing the repairs yourself...

Starting anew. This is a different camera.... I can compare it with the screen on my older 5d. The new one shows images on the LCD with a yellow cast. I exchanged it once at B&H already and have the same problem.

Since you're going in to BH, did you try comparing it to their floor model?

I will do that this time around. The returns are done around the corner from the store so that's where I went -they just exchanged it for another camera.
I was hoping someone here would either know this is an issue OR know that Canon purposely changed the screens.

Searching around on the web I can find an occasional complaint but they're not recent and nothing about how it was resolved.

I think I have it right in that you are comparing new 5d Marks IIs (not Mark IIIs) to your older Mark II. It seems that if they changed the LCD units to a different manufacturer more recently that might explain a little bit of a different tint, but I would not expect anything major. Since the image on your LCD is from a jpeg embedded in your RAW file (me thinks) is it possible you have either the new cameras or the old one set to different white balance? Maybe try going out in daylight and setting old and new to daylight and then compare. Possibly if both have been set to auto white balance maybe Canon has changed the way auto WB interprets in newer builds?

If the above mucking around doesn't help, I would indeed bring old and new into B&H and have a salesman evaluate and explain. Wish I could just walk into B&H, but I would probably suffer from sensory overload in this megastore!
Hope you get it worked out...

Thanks Brent, I've done all that. Side by side shots with the same setting. It's not the white balance. As an example, in camera, they both expose at 4800K when set on daylight but they look noticeably different on the LCD. I knew it from the first shot I took.

Still not figuring out what's wrong with my LCD view and still really frustrated.

I called Canon, after explaining everything that's happened and they agreed that possibly B&H has a bad lot of MKiis. We concluded that it was worth my returning it and purchasing from a different venue. I finally did that.
So now I have another new MKii purchased from Best Buy in New Jersey. But the yellow/green tint is the same as the ones from B&H.

I just updated to the new firmware in my old camera to see if that's the issue and it's not.

So I'm bumping this thread in case anybody has any ideas because I've run out.

There's a major Canon repair facility about 30-40 miles from NYC in Jamesburg, NJ; can you make a trip over there for a face-to-face consult? Set up an app't first...

I'll check on that. Thanks. We talked about repair but the camera is still returnable/refunable.
