I'm exclusively using the 400/5.6; it's the only thing that gets me even remotely close to "up close." Even so, the posted photos are cropped quite a bit. I've thought about setting up a blind that I could get to without them seeing my approach. I'm thinking it could actually work, but I'd have to stifle the shutter sound somehow, as I'm sure that would give me away.

...Make certain your blind is downwind, otherwise you might be SOL when they smell you.
