anyone ever hear of the Color Run? its a short race where they throw some sort of paint at you while you run. Sounds crazy to me but my wife and some friends are planning to do it and it looks like an awesome photo op however, it also looks like a nightmare to try to photograph. The paint is some sort of powder and it looks like i dont even want to bring my camera anywhere near it.
i may try to rent (or buy :)) some sort of telephoto for this.
has anyone ever seen or photographed it? should i stay away or could i get some "clean" shots from a decent distance?

Looks awesome. Get some two gallon ziplock freezer baggies. Cut a semi-circle out of the bottom crease small enough so you can stretch-fit the baggie over the lens you will use. You can actually get your right hand inside the baggie for shooting, camera will be protected. Works for rain too. That paint stuff's water-soluble, you can get it off the lens just fine. Use a UV filter if you like :-)

I have used lensrentals twice now and have been very happy with them. 4 day on the 70-200 2,8 is around $70. The 100-400 is around $80. |

Funny I just saw this video today and it is perfect. I think it would be an amazing photo op. Check out the 1:15 mark, you can see his camera covered with a plastic bag.

A very small pump spray bottle of water might be a good idea to have along to rinse the lens with, if you do the baggie thing and get in the mix with the camera.
