I love the VIVID setting on my G11. Color balance and intensity are just right for me. I can't get the same look with my T1i. Anyone have any tips, or have a good idea where I can them?

Yup. Photoshop or Elements or Gimp or PSP.
Doesn't the T1i also have custom settings for it? Have you studied the manual yet?
Just looked it up.... it does have picture styles, that should help....

I guess it depends on what software you use, but for me lightroom presets are great for this. You could always take a vivid jpg on your g11 and the same shot with standard settings on your t1i (making sure to shoot either raw or jpg depending on which you normally use - preset results will come out differently for both annoyingly), then start tweaking your t1i file until it looks like the g11 vivid image... save the custom preset then do this for a couple more files just to get the preset 100% down and you're away.

Your T1 should have a picture style for that. If it doesn't, it's easy enough to use software and create a preset. You may be able to create it in camera as well.

I kind of hoping someone already did the work. I don't get the chance to shoot a lot or expiriment. I figure someone has already come up with the preset or picture style.

At regular (2bar) ambience setting, here are the changes brought on by vivid in Canon pp:
+2 contrast
+3 color saturation
Strength 2
fineness 7
Threshold 4
The color balance should be unaffected, it should still follow your white balance setup as dictated by whatever setting you use on your camera.
I hope this helps,

Thank you, I am not sure if the T1i has Strength Fineness and Threshold, but the first two helped.
