could be interesting.
lots of possibilities for setups.

I could work with this. Not all would have to be set up shots -- street photography with a slow shutter speed might produce some very interesting apparitions.

Very nice idea, out with the ND filters.

"slow shutter on the street" is still a setup :)
that's what i meant. you can rig an item, you can adjust the camera, you can pose people, etc... it's not limited to anything but the photographer's ingenuity. :)

great suggestion. I have been looking for and spotting ghosts in photos lately, not real ones, just fleeting transient indications of soul. can't wait to see everyone's take on this topic, (if and when it becomes one)

Good. We have ghosts in Estes Park.

That would NOT be a good thing.

Explain?

It's easy to paint in things that appear paranormal. It's hard to capture an image which includes (the illusion of) an apparition using Advanced Edit ruleset.

Sort of the point I was going for... As you said it is harder to do it in advanced editing ruleset which means less entries... I would rather have a higher entry number plus have some really cool looking editing to keep the young crowd happy. Yes, I am considering myself a part of the young crowd. :) Lol.

I'm part of the young crowd. ;-/ It's a state of mind, not anything chronological.

As far as participation goes, you may get more people who want to draw and paint imaginary things. You don't need a camera for that stuff. I wouldn't participate in that, but many would. It's okay.

I'd simply prefer to use my camera to capture images which meet the challenge. This is a photography site. And, that is not a pejorative statement.

perfect example. could've been done with some smoke/ashes filtering up from just below the camera (incense works great for this), an old building and B&W filter.

curious to see if some of my initial thoughts will be portrayed if this happens.

*edit*
advanced or basic only. I know some people love to live in "advanced editing" world, but sometimes it's fun to be creative in basic.

I guess I'm out numbered... Lol. Either way I do like the idea of the challenge. I'd be down to participate either way.

:)

Sign me up- I'm looking forward to this challenge, something new for me... I'm used to shooting the 'real thing'!

I don't mind what type of editing really, I have a lot to learn & the best way is to dive right in I guess.
-have a few locations in mind, just need to summon up a spirit or two!

Sounds like fun and advanced editing would be a perfect fit- me thinks.
