I've been using the demo of Neat Image, and it works fine for challenge shots as they're resized and compressed and all, but after trying to print a picture that I edited in the demo version, I realize that I need the uncompressed image capabilities of the full versions...
So...which one do I buy? I don't need the Photoshop actions, nor the unlimited batched processing. My camera does produce 16 bit TIFF images (from RAW conversion) -- this is my deciding factor really, is there that much of a difference between a 16 bit and an 8 bit TIFF? (Home edition does not support 16 bit)

| Well in my opinion, having the neatimage work as a plug-in filter in PS (in my case, in PSe) is worth it! You can even apply it to part of an image as the current mask is supported. And I usually apply it to a separate layer (a copy of the main layer) which gives me the ability to change my mind later, or even apply it as a blend with the main layer. (Note: not for non-editing challenges, where you must apply throughout and not blend layers). |

Thank you for your advice, I did some searching on the Neat Image forum and found similar questions and answers there about 16 bit vs. 8 bit. I think I could definitely use the selective application of the filter made possible by the plug-in. I'll go for Home+ edition.
