I really don't understand the voting. My average vote is 7.1310 (at present) and it has been around that or higher since I joined. The majority of my votes are between the 6-9 range and the lowest I will vote is a 4. I do not believe in voting below that. I believe this site's main purpose is to provide an outlet for people to develop their photography skills and to be encouraged and assisted by other participants. Even if you think some of the photos you evaluate are horrible, remember the person participated and presented what they thought was a good photo, so it has some merit. We are all chasing that perfect shot but not every click of the shutter produces perfection. Keep chasing.

One of the biggest reasons I am registered user now, I go crazy only once a week, not three times. And I really don't need an update button to poke my brain with every second.

So, I am just ignoring the bad votes, if it's over my average, still count as a good one ;) also, previous one was dropped to 5.9 once before it finished 6.47

it's all good now :)

Then you are not getting the US recommended daily allowance of crazy. A crazy-deficient diet can have catastrophic long term effects.

Ditto :-) and a 4.2 for my efforts. But I actually DO love the image. It's just that I had no illusions regarding scoring potential, and my lack of illusion was spot-on :-)

Hooray for DPC voters :) Ironically I don't like my image very much and it's bouncing around at 6.0

with every challenge I enter... my score drops. current stat is 3.96 in the challenge with 37 votes. big deal. but I've also realized that as long as I'm staying true to myself, then I'm the best photographer I could possibly be. is my entry as "visually appealing" as some of the others... but it's a memory forever captured. so it's well worth it. :)

Sigh still no sign of recovery, I think other than my FS image that I have already entered this will be my last entry for a while.
No feedback with such a low score doesn't seem to be worthwhile (4.8) entering and then getting shot down without feedback isn't my idea of fun or a positive learning experience.

When the challenge is over, post a request for feedback and you'll get it. If you are really lucky, *someone* will add Godzilla to your pic as well.

Looking at the first Glasses challenge, I thought I was sure to be in the top ten. After two 4̢۪s and a 3 this morning, I̢۪m sitting at 5.6129. I (obviously) don̢۪t get it.

last minute entry 5.4 and dropping like a stone.

The pattern of high speed votes over night followed by a second day drop is becoming more and more pronounced, it seems.

I think we're getting hit with the "what a boring challenge subject!" votes. Seriously... there's not a whole lot you can do with glasses. I struggled with this one, and was really curious to see what people came up with. But you must admit, it's not the most interesting challenge. I think this will be a very low scoring challenge (just like the previous one).
