I personally don't care if a "make believe" special award goes with the "make believe" ribbons... |
To make a mountain out of a molehill and to senselessly argue a moot point, I would not have entered that challenge had I known my profile page was going to fall into disgrace with the addition of a red headed stepchild ribbon. ;-/ |
Well, hahn23, I suppose it's stating the obvious, but if you would not have entered if you knew of this, you could probably self-DQ to avoid this badge.
Still, on the other hand, I hope you soon find the fun in this not-so-serious contest and find it possible to enjoy the continuing humor of ART ROFLMAO. |

Regarding the ribbon: This ribbon has a lot of meaning -- it means that people went out of their comfort zone, working with something that they probably haven't done before. Leaving their egos at the door, and going for the silly. A huge number of people, myself included, said this was about the fun, not the score, simply to honor a wonderful person. How often does that happen? This is a well earned ribbon. Obviously not everyone entered for the experience and the fun, but that was the intent of the challenge and the intent of the ribbon. |
Vawendy, I assumed you knew what you were doing. My mistake. Please accept my heartfelt apology for pointing out the misstep in your post. I don't regularly use the PM system. It's not a good system for me, but that's a long story.
I regret entering the ArtRoflmao challenge, if my profile page will subsequently sport an unwanted ribbon. Hey, I entered the challenge for the fun. I didn't upload a serious entry. How could I?... it was in extreme editing, about which I don't have a clue. |

I think my entry is very fun and funny. No, I'm not going to self-DQ. I'm proud of my entry, although it has been hammered into the ground on the score. (Why was that?) Doesn't matter. I really enjoyed all the entries and actually did learn some things about extreme editing. If I had been serious about "winning" the challenge, I would have done my entry differently. |

Are we really arguing over a freaking ribbon? Pathetic... Let's bash Ken for trying to say thank you to all who entered by giving a simple award that we have on our profile page!!! Woohoo!!
Dunce... -_- |

Ahhh, this all makes sense now...
Those who have a "prestige" to uphold do not want to be known for their "fun" entries...
I make a point to always have fun. Unfortunately my score suffers from it...

I'm all for an icon which we can choose to show on our profile page. Thanks, Ken, for offering that kind of simple award. |

Request your entry be removed. Then you won't have to worry about it. :) |

I don't wish to remove my entry from the competition. I don't know why you would want my image removed. ????? I like Artroflmao. I'm grateful to his creation of a special icon. Thanks, Art. I assume Kelli is right about the special award not being in the same box with the rest of the ribbons. I think it would be great to place special ribbons in their own box. We could call it a "SemperBox". |

Seriously? Seriously?!!! Dude, if that is your biggest problem, you ain't got no problem.
A virtual "silly" ribbon amongst the virtual "serious" ribbons. The horror and indignity of it all....
How very sweet and condescending of you to appreciate a ribbon from Ken, as long as you can decline to display it.

Well, currently the profile page is screwed up for those of us who entered the ROFLMAO challenge. So, I don't know anything about what will happen.
I guess I won't have a choice as to whether it will be displayed, if it is a mandated (forced display) ribbon. However, it's not a Blue,Red,Yellow ribbon. And, if the image does not place in the top 5 of the challenge, it is not an HM ribbon. So, it does not belong with those others. What is it? It's a special ribbon and it deserves an appropriate placement. I think it's great for Art to offer a special ribbon icon for those who participated. It's not me making this difficult. I will change my mind and display the icon, as long as it is not a mandated display. (Oh, I guess that means it will be on my profile page... one way or another.) |

For the record, I did not make this ribbon up. It has been awarded twice in the past for silly challenges...
...and was placed in the Honorable Mention box of all entrant's profile page with no option to decline it and guess what? NOBODY whined about it (and I don't mean nobody), in fact everyone that voiced an opinion about it was happy about it as far as I can recall.
I'll stop there while I've practically bitten clear through my tongue. |

Art, don't bite your tongue off.
I didn't know about the silly ribbon thing. And, I've been here 6 years. So, please forgive me for asking about this thing. I do have the right to ask a question, don't I? I probably should have sent you a PM about the special ribbon before I asked in the forum. My apologies for your nearly severed tongue. That must hurt. |

No worries, I've been through similar things before. Now let's get back to the serious business of having fun. |

I just want to know if I can display it as my profile pic? It would be a great reminder for me not to take myself so seriously (grin) If not, I will love it no matter where it sits on my very messy profile page - thanks Art :) |

I'll have Richard's icon. It will be great to have 2 of these in my profile amongst my "serious" ribbons. I'd love that! :) |
