It's allowed to use 1-10 captures of a single scene, but is focus bracketing allowed? The scene does change somewhat due to the focus change and I'm just not sure if this allowed in advanced editing. Any idea? Thanks in advance. |

One of the stated reasons for allowing multiple exposures was for focus bracketing, so yes, it should be allowable, as long as you don't have an elephant that wanders through the scene, and you choose which exposure to keep him in ;-)

This recent blue ribbon was focus stacked:

So I can use 2 images of the same scene with different focus (and some editing)? |

Interesting....never thought about bracketing for focus. Just exposure...hmmmmm. I might have to try it out with my 85mm f1.8. |

i stumbled on a shoton 1x that had been focused stacked he called it 229 images or something at 0.03mm increments of a fly it was amazing i'll go see if i favourited, obviously limited to ten but its a good tactic, there are a few free software bitsout there for it as well

there was a really nice shot of girl floating in fish tank that was focus stacked.
i don't remember what challenge it was in though. the photographer also had a write up on how it was done. |
