That was amazing. I think every photographer should read that from start to finish. I especially like that "crappy" last image.

I found myself nodding my head in agreement every step of the way. I do love photography, however much or little of it I'm doing of it at any moment.

ETA: Oh, before someone calls me on this, yes, I do love photography *equipment* too ;-)

		| Good read. I'm more of a snap shot kinda photographer, mostly with my camera phone these days. But those snap shots mean a lot too me. |

A wonderful read. I'm all for anything that pricks the bubble of artistic self-righteousness...

No! Artistic self-righteousness is the only bubble I've got! Prick that, and all that's left is ... the prick.

But I agree on the 'wonderful read' part. Photographs are a joy; one of the greatest of all joys as far as I'm concerned. Actually, on reading the article a second time, I've realized that the author was very likely a victim of his own spell-checker. He no doubt meant to say, "I Love Photographs" rather than Photography. Because that's what he's talking about: photographs, and not photography.

Oh how I would love to read a Susan Sontag essay on the democratization of photography in the digital age. |

If the prick fits, wear it :-) You know we love you, right?
