I found this interesting... Some of these points have been largely discussed here in DPC...

How to deliver a useful photo critique?

"And that is at the heart of the critique, wanting to help the other improve. Anything less is simply complaining or touting one̢۪s own mastery of the art, neither of which really help anyone (except the reviewer̢۪s own ego)."

There is a 4th option: wanting to express the impact a photo had on you. It's the most valuable option, imho.

Hmmm, where does a Grog comment fall in all this? Or any comment not directly related to the impact or quality of a photo?
