I am wondering why there are not more recent site favorites?
Of course the ones already there do benefit from the sheep effect, i.e. being selected as favorites because the rest of the herd did as well. But that cannot be the whole story: I actually remember jemison's Flight getting to the top very quickly after it won.
Was there never again such an outstanding picture in 7 years? With outstanding I mean "sticking out of the lot"; are there too many good pictures nowadays?

I see a bunch of recently added pics and photographers. All the top rated are older pics, however. I would presume those have time working for them.

Well deserved placement for sure, but didn't this photo also get picked up and kind of go "viral" with a site like Stumbleupon or something? There was some discussion in the forums at the time I think.

105 ten's it would never happen nowadays....
its strange and ive said it before the highest scores are older photos and they seemed to score a lot higher 8 years ago
like how langdon has the highest image, shall we get an investigation for suspicious voting on that haha |

| That's why I wish they would show stats by year. I would love to see what photo was the favorite for 2011, 2010, etc. But we'll really never know unless we sit and do all the calculations. :( |

Yes, let a statistician loose on the database (read-only access, of course) and see what comes out of it
