A mathematically inclined sort of person could have a field day figuring out all the relationships between the holes, the whole, and all the different angles that the holes form in this item.

thought i reconsized it we call it builders band, but it's used to tie brick work to other brickwork in the mortar

or used to form plaster arches etc plasters mesh
