*pulling up soapbox* OK not going to rant too much. Or so I'll try! Expert editing gives the PS wizards a chance to show off their mad skillz with a bazillion images and layers. I know my entry, which I have yet to shoot btw, will be dependent at the very most on two images, and I know my PS skills aren't even close to the PS wizards. So that means I have to capture what I want with the camera. And I probably won't have much time to do pp anyway.

As for what deeby says, I agree 100%. If you have a poor image, no amount of pp will save it, and usually just makes it look worse. And it is too easy to take a perfectly good photo and completely ruin it with too much pp. Heavyweights like Judi and gyaban both start with good images first, then make them even better with their PS skills.

*jumping off soapbox* Now if you'll excuse me I have to get to set and start getting things set up for the shoot.

Good to know I'm in good company on this one :)

Well I have given it a go,its rubbish and fairly badly done, BUT I had great fun doing it and learned a load of things by way of having to look up stuff cos I had no clue how to get where I was trying to get. And that to me is the whole point.Look forward to seeing all the enteries.

thats why i love expert editing, not just the creating, but you get to learn how to use lots of tools you wouldn't normal use. i know this challenge i tried to do something 5 or 6 different ways until found the proper way i needed to do it. that knowledge will definitely help in the future

..something this complex...

Too many hours poured into this and way too many layers that caused it to crash when merging a few layers (I had a back-up saved thank goodness).

It looks NOTHING like I envisioned and I am debating whether it is ready for the voters.

Oh great I better save mine before I merge everything, I have at least 100 layers if not more, way too many to count. And I'm not even done. :)

I do the same. When I do something with many layers I'm always afraid that I'm going to lose my work, so I keep saving with different names... in the end I have at least 5-6 PSD files :D

When I get ready to make global adjustments I merge visible (Shift + Ctrl + Alt + E) and duplicate that layer to a new file.

Where were you two hours ago???? This is the only thing I couldn't figure out how to do... It's always the small stuff, you know?

In at the last minute, it's probably not what people are expecting for this challenge so I will be interested to see how well it does.
