I opened a new file (not photo but file from the top menu), on PS5 poured a pink background, drew some pink lines, to ask for help finding a photo... NOW Went to edit and my Background IS PINK... PINK much brighter than in this screen shot... HOW do I get this back to default, been all over help and net and I'm sure it is so stupid simple no one has the answer
Heres the screen shot....

Try looking under Preferences -- in either the File or Edit menu, I forget for the newer versions.

Or click on Background color in the Tools palette, depending on how you changed it initially.

yep, with a file open, you should just be able to right click on the background and choose 'gray'.

Wellll GeneralE I don't know WHAT I did but some how in the preferences I found something that showed color custom, and the drop down had gray, black or white, so I clicked on GRAY and it is fixed... Thanks for pointing me in that direction, although that wasn't how I turned it pink.. LORDY

Giles_uk PC here, and I had already right clicked all over the place trying to open something that looked like it might work.. LOL

Correct. In the United States gray and grey are both commonly used. Gray is in short an American derivation of Grey, but means the same thing in reference to color.

Using your example of above Grey is a colour would be proper in the UK. Here in the states Gray is a color OR Grey is a color would both be correct. While I would always spell color....color, it's not uncommon to see the English (British) version here as well so seeing Grey is a colour would not seem out of place to me. So yes, grey or gray are pretty interchangeable here. :)

As Pam mentioned you need to have a file...ie photo open in order to right click in the editing window (off the photo) to change it to whatever color you choose. One you select that color it will remain that way even when you close that file and open others. So just right clicking off the photo and selecting the default gray or black or a custom color will take care of the pink issue. LOL.

Gray is less likely to be confused with green than grey when the word gets truncated, either deliberately or by software (like in some file-name structures). I use the two relatively interchangeably ...

Another fun one is disk vs disc -- I've heard the former is for fixed media (e.g. hard drive platter) and the latter for removables (CD/DVD) ...

Absolutely correct on both points. While I hadn't given the truncated point much thought it makes perfect sense, and you're dead on on the difference in spelling between disk and disc.
