I would like to say black Iron Ore but it seems to be to dark/shinny. Maybe a more rubbery substance such as tar.

I recently did a tire repair and it looks alot like the rubber compound that is stuck through the hole. |

All no, so far, though it is a natural object.
I washed the dust off before I photo'd it, so it's a bit shinier than I'm used to seeing it. |

It's black, any visible color is a reflection.
No rust, no coal, no creosote.
It came to me on a plane or a boat.

Here's another view, incandescent lamp, Only edit is a slight decrease in contrast and some deblur using Topaz InFocus, to show the form and texture better, then SFW.
The other side has a texture that is fairly familiar to many. |
