Originally posted by kasaba: That is why I was asking if you had to use just the username or could have it as part of the title. | The whole point of this challenge is to take a photo that represents username and:
"Don't forget to title your entry with your chosen username."
If you don't do that you will be hammered with DNMCs (scores 1-3) and they are NEVER accompanied by comments so you will not know if it is your photo that sucks or they just don't like the title.
You are welcome to PM me (send a Private Message) with help on this with your entry. |

p.s. is there a list of ALL usernames somewhere, so we can go look for inspiration? |

oh crap... 97,000+ usernames!!! |
Don't sweat it, looks like most of them don't even participate, let alone have a camera. Go nuts! :-) |

if anyone uses mine, it is pronounced knee knee, so therefore if you choose to use gorgeous legs exposing the knees be sure she is wearing a sexy pair of stilettos ;) |

yes, but I would reckon making a clever and tchnically great image of a well known name will do you better than just shooting a nice sunset and saying "stareatthesun"- or I could be wrong. |

Strange picture of stilettos attached to knees floated through my head.
Fortunately it kept floating...

I won a blue ribbon with CapeCodDreams, a member nobody's seen or heard from in forever, so anything's possible. I'm disciplining myself NOT to use that username again this week, it's such easy pickings :-)

So, does the username have to appear exactly as it is (ie. inthebox), or can we separate the words to make it more legible (in the box)? |

just curious! when we submit a request there was a user name exists but when voting started either the user is no longer available or have been renamed to something else!
Then we may start getting DMC for the entry :)

I was checking out the usernames and found there are SO many people that have not participated in ANY challenges, or even put up any of their photos for us to check out etc. Would it be fair to say it's not worth using their names as they may never ever get to see this challenge.?? Would it be a waste of time? Some have been members 6 years!!

heatherd, I've been checking through old Username challenges and some of the top photos use names of people who never entered a challenge. We're not entering for the benefit of the users whose names we use, so I don't think using their names is a waste of time. If the name is registered, we're meeting the challenge and that's all that matters. |

With the amount of names on the site the challenge is becoming pretty much a free study...

True enough. I took some photos yesterday. Then checked to see if there were usernames matching subject. And, there were.... but, not close enough to be considered a good effort. It did give me some ideas, though. I'm traveling today and will seek a specific subject en route. |

Unlucky for you. I found a very good match. Just as well because I wouldn't have been able to reshoot. |

If anybody wants to stab themselves in the back they can title it with my username :)
Ecce Signum
See it, in proof; Behold the proof!
“I am eight times thrust through the doublet, four through the hose; my buckler cut through and through; my sword hacked like a handsaw— ecce signum!” —Shakespeare: 1 Henry IV., ii. 4.
