I am trying to replicate a photo simulate the lighting of a photo that I like for the Portrait challenge.

I was wondering if those of you who were good at determining what the setup and type of lights used just by looking at a picture. I do not have enough experience to conclude that; But I know enough to tell that if I screw up the lighting then it will never be how I want it...

I can PM you the picture in question, because it might be a challenge entry... thanks...

I just want to know what direction which type of lights are oriented...

Send me a PM, and I'll take a look. I'm not voting.

In general, look at where the shadows are falling, and any catchlights in the eyes or other reflective surfaces (unless they are edited out in post).
