Hi Everyone,
My name is Sammy and I'm South African living in London. I am new to DPC having just signed up a few days ago. It's an absolute honour to be part of such a talented group and I must admit I am little intimidated by all these beautiful photos. I am excited about taking part in the challenges and welcome all feedback.
Cheers

Hey! Welcome to our corner of the net - it's a place who's beauty is only rivaled by it's insanity. Get ready to have some serious fun. :) |

Hallo Sammy,
I stay in the old RSA, in Barberton. I joined a year and a half ago, and the best way to enjoy this site is to participate. Start entering challenges sooner rather than later, and read all the comments and how-did-they-do-that threads.
Enjoy!

Hi Everyone
Wow thank you for your all for your kind words, strangely I am only seeing your messages now, not sure what happened there. Okay so today was a bit of a big deal for me, I entered my first challenge, I am both nervous and relieved at the same time. I feel like I am finally getting started:-) Let me start of by telling you a bit about myself. I am Zulu girl, yes a girl from PMB. I've been in the UK for 3.5years and am currently holding down a full time job in Marketing and finishing my degree in International business and trying to improve my photography. I am married with no kids or pets just a gorgeous Xhosa husband who I met and married while still in SA. Why leave home? Well we both always wanted to travel so we put the house up for rent sold our two cars and moved to a country we had never been to before. Crazy I know, but you only live once. Besides that there is not much to tell. Since registering on DPC I have been popping in marvelling at the pics and then running away, feeling way too intimidated to enter up until now.
A big thank you to everyone, I really appreciate your messages of support. I'll be checking out your guys profiles for some much needed inspiration and will hopefully get you know you a little bit better over time.
Till next time
Sammy

Getting started took me longer than I had anticipated. As a full member I have no excuses, just need to get on with it

London is where I was born. I listened to the radio in 1965 when Leeds United played Liverpool in the FA cup final. Albert Johanneson was on the wing for Leeds. He disappointed a lot of people then, and that and the reasons for it and his subsequent career were tragic.
I was reminded of all this by your hesitancy in 'jumping in' as it were. I hope for all the wrong reasons. Go for it. Rise. :) |
