For those kids that still believe in Santa claus there is an awesome app. It's called Magic Santa. I will be playing it for my godchild tonight and I think she will flip.
In the app you enter the childs name, picture, what they want for Christmas, and a bunch of other info and a special video is produced specifically for them. It's pretty cool. |

My son never believed. We didn't really push it, and were just kinda following his lead on this thing.
However, with our daughter, our best efforts at being "honest" are met with "Oh yes, there IS a Santa Claus!" there is no convincing her otherwise. She would probably get a kick out of this app. May have to look it up. :P |

I don't have children but I'm from the tell the truth from the beginning camp. I have had a lot of parents tell me that would change if I ever had a child of my own but I don't know.
Either way this app could be great for those kids who do believe and there is not many things in this world better than a kids smile. This is sure to do the trick.
BTW..I had a coworker not be able to use this because she has a droid but if you google magic santa its the first option and I think you can do it on your computer. |

I have an 8 year old son. His skepticism about Santa is reaching critical mass despite the efforts of myself, his mother and stepfather. |

I will never forget when my kids (who are now 22 & 27) told me one year..."Mom...we really know who Santa is..." my response to them was..."well that simplifies things doesn't it...since there is no Santa what becomes of his gifts"...
they quickly came back with...BUT...WE BELIEVE...We really believe...pffttttt...
it's all in the spirit & magic of things...that's what it's really all about... |

I saw a picture of him on a cross in the local paper. Seems people were bitching about the fact that merchants no longer say "Merry Christmas" to shoppers anymore.
For me, Christmas has always been a religious holiday period... and when I was young, the exchange of gifts occurred on New Year's Day, after the paternal blessing.

Pardon the hijack, but a coworker of mine was looking for a nativity set for her yard. Some stores were sold out. Lowes home store told her that they considered nativity sets to be politically incorrect.... what? So it is now acceptable for Santa to be praised at Christmas but not Christ? "Political correctness" has hit a new Lowe (pun intended.) |

...I used it last year and my kids were amazed Santa knew so much about them. I've just done another for them for this year and will show them tomorrow. It's free to do and watch - then you have the option to buy the video. I haven't bought this year's yet, so don't know what the price is, but last year it was pretty reasonable. |

This year, my 5 year old didn't want to sit on Santa's lap. We were on the town green and Santa had just come blazing in on a fire truck.
I said, why, she said, that's not the real Santa it was just someone dressed up. I said, how do you know? Of course it is. She said, the 'real' Santa wouldn't come on a firetruck. I said, he may or may not be the real one as Santa has helpers to get the message back to him on what you want. She said, she already wrote a letter so there was no point of telling him again. (She's 5, remember).
So, I said, well, sometime Santa tried to get everything but he can forget, do you want to take the chance by not sitting on his lap and asking?
She smiled and went up to Santa.
The next day, we bought an Elf on the Shelf.

We never tried to make our children believe in Santa.
When asked, we would say that Santa is as real as you want him to be, and at Christmas if you do things for other people you can be a Santa as well. So presents we're exchanged all around from Santa. Our kids loved being able to be Santa for us.
Our oldest is 32 now. He still believes in "Santa". When you stop believing in what could more properly be called the Santa effect, or feeling, the gifts from Santa stop. Santa gifts in our house are always hand made, and something meaningful for the recipient.
My best Santa gift ever was from my oldest son on Christmas 2001. Our some was one of the first into Afghanistan, with the 10th Mountain Division. No chance to creat a hand made gift, so I received a very nicely decorated IOU for one lawn mowing from Santa. Considering that he absolutely hated mowing the lawn as a kid, it meant a great deal to me.

My younger son, now aged thirty-four, was about seven. On Christmas Eve he went to bed professing that he no longer believed in Santa. He came down the next morning and found his gifts under the tree. I asked him if he still didn't believe in Santa, and he told me that well, yes, "I think I saw the reindeer's tail!" |

Bahaha, I did the video for my 10 year old, who wants a netbook, which she isn't getting. I put her on the naughty list in the video and she stormed off before it ended. :-D
