Great price for a great camera!! Far less then I payed. Yeah, I'm a bastard too, so I can say it to you too.....

How's the waiting for the 5D2 going... stay the course :-)

Difficult, especially with my 30D already sold and gone.

I have been hitting the update on the canon refurb site more than the update button for my score, it's that difficult.

Ok, so I ended up ordering the 7D. In the end, I couldn't justify the cost of the 5D Mark II, plus we've had a couple other medical bills pop up as well that have caused a little more tightening. I think I'm okay not going full-frame this round. Now that I've made the decision I am super stoked to jump from a 30D to the 7D.

Things I'm Looking Forward To w/7D:
Built in Flash Trigger!
Saved Some $$$
8 FPS
Better Autofocus
The Big high-res screen
8MP -> 18MP
All around fast
My 30D was a bit soft

So, that's where all of this led. Thanks for everyone's input!

I'm pretty sure I wont be disappointed.

You won't be disappointed:)

I had owned Canon before, a 300D a great little work horse, then a couple of 30Ds, they were a real letdown. So I went for Pentax and used various models with some super results. But, I was frustrated by the lack of lenses, I know that there is a huge range of older lenses available for Pentax, but they weren't what I wanted.

So, I switched to Nikon and had a D300 and a D700, both very capable cameras and I would still using them now, but my wife wanted a new DSLR and took a fancy to the Canon 600D. Well, I wasn't going to have two systems, Canon and Nikon, so I sold all the Nikon gear and bought her 600D and a 7D. I replaced most of my lenses and upgraded a few. The 7D produced stunning photos from day one and I can't say anymore than it is a great camera.

Should be here on Friday. :)

Congrats! I'm sure you'll love it. The difference in price basically covers a refurb Canon 10-22 from Canon, and by the time you're ready to go FF, the next 5D should have a much better focusing system and even lower noise.

Well damn - went and caved already I see :-)

Enjoy... It's a very workable bit of kit :-) I understand the price gap on full frame have been exactly there....

It's here!!! I'm waiting for the battery to charge while I'm at lunch. I feel like a giddy little school girl right now.

Take it easy with all that new power. Wear gloves and safety glasses.

It came with a scent of blue ribbons. ;)

It's got a vey serious feel to it with a lot of heft. Feels a lot more serious than my old 30D. Just handling it it has a good comfortable feel to it. I'm going to have a hard time focusing at work today.

That sentence is completely useless without pictures :-)

Also got a Lowepro Fastpack 350 for Christmas to handle the new heft. The old over the shoulder just ain't hackin it anymore.

That's what PennyClick packs HER 7D in as well. It'll handle up to a 70-200mm f/2.8L and a few other lenses, plus has room for miscellaneous non-photo stuff. It's a good choice.

Would this be a bad time to mention Canon's $1699 deal on a refurb 5D II?

Oh geez. Well I'm sending my 7D back due to my viewfinder issue. Maybe I'll swap for that now if they'd let me do the difference, well see what tomorrows call brings.

Good grief Charlie Brown. I'm going to make a phone call tomorrow morning to see what my options are now. My wife said to go ahead and get the Mark II if they'll let me swap that way. Now I am going to ruminate about it all day. I wish they were open today for calls.
