Well, it appears that after a year of strain and effort that my company is going to re-imburse me well enough for me to divert some money into my photography after all. Will be picking up a Canon D60 with a 15 to 125mm lens after the holidays!!! Can hardly wait. I knew it was time to upgrade because I kept getting angry at the lack of features and power after about 6 months of using my current camera. . . I am especially thrilled about the articulatable LED display.

Was that your first Canon? What features of it do you really appreciate?

Same as you rebel xs. I just like how its really east to set everything you don't to dig into the menus to set the ISO, burst, metering, etc. It feels more solid, easier to hold, balances the lenses much better. The articulating screen is nice. But the thing I love the most over the xs is that the ISO goes so much higher, where the xs topped out at 1600, the 60D goes all the way to 12800. The pics I take at 3200, have less noise than the xs had at 1600. Thevpicturevquality isn't a vast improvement, but its much easier to use and set, so i spend more time taking pictures and not looking for settings
