You decide.

A little corny, yes, but pretty cool nonetheless.

IMO it's really cool! Though you would get a bunch of comments about the odd grain. LOL! That's a very talented, not to mention patient, person who spent the time to make it.

Kelly, apparently it's a type of printer that places them! Can you imagine how much each cartridge costs? Maybe I read it wrong...

Although in a pinch, I guess they could be dessert...

LOL! After reading it again I get they made a template for it, but had to actually place the candies by hand. “Using a customized computer program, a template is created from an original image which guides the placement of each sprinkle. Taking just under 8 months to complete, once finished, it was permanently preserved with a clear acrylic resin.“ Either way, it's still cool!

And only 6 colours - none of them brown/beige (which you'd think you really need for both dog and skin).

Now imagine enlarging this.... beach balls instead of sprinkles ;-) You'd see it from outer space!

fun image and techique.

But actually Seurat liked dots a lot, too.

And all sorts of other crafts, like cross stitch and tapestry rely on the eye to blend the 'dots'. I think the beagle piece is a totally cool variation, and the limited palette is pretty comparable to what our printers use.

Cool :)
I love Seurat and pixels are tasteless, I'd love to to be able to eat up my bad images (admittedly, I would end up amazingly obese)

I'd be absolutely elephantine!

even though it took eight months to create its a bit underwhelming knowing it was created by a printer.

They used a computer program to convert the photo into a coloured matrix, then used that to tell them where to place each of the candies. It was that part (placing the candies by hand) that took 8 months.

Look at the Tibetan sand painting - beats the beagle by far!

Several years ago, they created a sand mandala at the Met, with a giant yak butter sculpture. Quite impressive.

I need to go back to college so I can have that kind of time - all for a grade...

it's very sweet

That is incredible! Except, it would be more incredible without the aid of a computer.
