We will both be off from school for the month so i would probably go during the week. i want to stay somewhat local (read no planes) so some where in the northeast US, i live in NJ.
The problem its going to be cold, so im looking for ideas for winter getaway, she doesnt ski and i haven't been in years becuase of my knees so the obvious is off the table. not to a city either, rather go relax for a few days.

How about the Catskills for some winter photography?

Well, I'm a big fan of Cape Cod in the winter. Bleak & Beautiful. But not a lot going on, except "nature exposed". If you want nightlife etc, this isn't the place. It depends on your budget, too.

Vermont is always good for Winter getaways. Woodstock and Stowe are both great choices - great scenery, wonderful restaurants, galleries etc, and enough outdoor activities that don't involve downhill skiing - sled rides, snow shoeing, XC skiing, etc.... |
