Does anyone have any idea what these are?

The Weird Images

That's very strange. And look what's a short distance to the West of it;

//maps.google.com/maps?q=40.452107,93.742118&hl=de&ll=40.473983,93.508244&spn=0.053604,0.104971&num=1&t=h&vpsrc=6&z=14

And this;

//maps.google.com/maps?q=40.452107,93.742118&hl=de&ll=40.457789,93.393488&spn=0.013404,0.026243&num=1&t=h&vpsrc=6&z=16

nevermind the original post here.

I think that it is probably a Flash Forward device.

Hmm looks like a giant make-work project for the unemployed.

Satellite targeting system calibration targets.

The US Embassy in Moscow used a set of strange markings in the parking lot as a calibration target for the satellite imaging systems. The Chinese may be venturing into space based weapon platforms though, which would be a very aggressive act on their part

This is the one that confuses me the most. It appears to be a nuclear power plant but the entire place is devoid of cars, so apparently it's a vacant power plant. Also check out the bright blue cooling pools. They are so large that you can still see them when you zoom out so far that all of China is visible.

Maybe they had a leak, so no one's around there anymore.

The first one is a drawing of a car, they just haven't put the wheels on it yet.
The second one is a gated community. They never seem to work right though. People keep getting out of them all the time.

There's something else really weird about it: Don't nuclear power plants usually have power lines installed to carry the electricity? Even if this is a failed or aborted power plant, the lines would have been in place along with the rest of the construction if it ever was actually meant to provide power to someplace else.

The absence of power lines suggests that the power that the plant was meant to create was to be used on site. What was the place meant to provide power for?

edit to add: Ooohhh, late night theories kicking in now!.......

Incredibly powerful ground based lasers that would be aimed at orbiting mirrors for an Earth based 'Star Wars' laser weapons system. Hmmmmm.

Doesn't look nuclear to me anyway. Those are a different kind of stack, lattice at the bottom for drawing air in, look like they belong with a coal plant. Those round ponds are settling ponds of some sort. The waste is coming in from the huge, blue-roofed building... I don't know what's going on but it doesn't look nuclear to me. The image following is of a coal plant...

Here's a clue, pretty clear that this is a tractor-trailer, but what's on the the trailer? BTW, I found this just looking around the area, probably more cool stuff to be found there.

//g.co/maps/j7vb3

From the area near what look like runways...

//g.co/maps/y8ect

Looks very much like a bombing target to me..

Here's a similar setup to the circular one with airplanes, the example comes from White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico - this is very close to where I went to explore the Jornada Del Muerto Volcano..

Hmm, very interesting structures, they look like either magazines, bunkers, entrances to an underground facility(unlikely that there would be so many entrances with so little traffic), or missile sites... Considering traffic, etc.. I actually think I favor the missile site / mobile launcher idea.. Another near the bombing target above.

But I find this area to be even more interesting, much more subtle, but this is very strange / cool - the entire area is covered by tight and rather precise circles. ..

Check out the local town's park... :)

Hmm... The ponds that are around it look suspiciously like mineral collection evaporation ponds.

//g.co/maps/6vv8x <- Google map of the Chinese ponds
Another Google map from the area.

Similar to these: //g.co/maps/w6uw7 <- Google map of Chilean evaporation ponds {Wiki Commons - with geological description}

Maybe this is just a big nitrate/lithium/? mining operation.. China does have some amazing deposits.

The geological description of the surrounding area would fit the Chinese location's appearance quite well..

Some TV report in China (... in Chinese)

Apparently they also replicate some US cities there.
