Hey everybody,
I found this posting and was very interested in buying these lenses. This would be my first lens purchase outside of the one that came with my camera. Right now I feel lens stupid. Would these lenses work with my Canon Rebel XTI?
FOR YOUR CONSIDERATION ARE THREE AUTOFOCUS SIGMA FOR CANON LENSES THAT I ACQUIRED AND CANNOT GET TO WORK ON MY CANON EOS EOS 620 CAMERA.
ALL THREE CAMERA LENSES WILL NOT AUTOFOCUS
I KNOW THAT THE EOS 620 WORKS AS IT WORKS PERFECTLY WITH MY ORIGINAL CANON AF LENS.
I KNOW THAT THERE ARE COMPATIBILITY PROBLEMS WITH CERTAIN SIGMA AF LENSES AND THEREFORE THE LENSES MAY BE IN WORKABLE CONDITION WHEN USED WITH THE RIGHT MODELS F CANNON CAMERAS. ( I JUST CANNOT SAY FOR SURE THAT THESE ARE WORKING LENSES. )
FOR THIS REASON I AM SELLING THESE THREE LENSES STRICTLY AS IS .
HERE ARE THE LENSES:
1. SIGMA ZOOM 28-105MM F 3.8-5.6 UC-III WITH TIFFIN UV FILTER
2. SIGMA ZOOM 28-80MM F 3.5-5.6 MACRO WITH SUNPAK UV FILTER
3. SIGMA ZOOM 28-80MM F 3.5-5.6 MACRO
ALL OF THE LENSES APPEAR TO BE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. I CANNOT FIND ANY DUST, MOLD, OIL, ETC. |

Something doesn't feel right here. Two of those lenses seem to be identical while the third covers a very similar range. I can't understand why the seller would have all three of these unless some were bought to replace others he knew were defective. |

I'd be weary on this as well. Unless they're really really cheap or you were able to try them out first. Guessing you don't have that option though. From a quick web search on the 620 they were tried on though it looks like they are EF mounts which should fit your camera just fine. I'd hold out for some more knowledgeable replies as I know nothing about those lens or the older canon models though so I'm not completely sure they'd fit, just that the mount seems compatible. |

Older Sigma lenses will not work with newer EOS cameras. At one time you could send them to Sigma to get the chips updated for proper communication. The older lenses are no longer supported, and Sigma no longer performs this service. Lack of auto focus at anything other than the widest aperture is one of the symptoms. The newer lenses are fine, and will also work with the older cameras. |

To me it sounds like the seller doesn't have English as a first language. I feel they don't own the lens themselves, as they don't seem to be sure if they are working ok.
I'd be wary of this one unless I can touch, try them out. |

I would not pay more than $50. Are these lenses going to be any different than what I am using now? |
