I'm trying to get legal to enter DPC challenges with my camera phone.

I just took this pic moments ago... Nov 2, around 12:28-ish.

The Blackberry shows the proper time and date on the display, and in the calendar (handed down by the cell network, I believe), but the EXIF in this photo says the pic was taken on Oct 31 at 5:12pm

LIES!

When I go into Option -> Date/Time, it is proper & current..... ?

Can anyone straighten me out?

The zero key on my Motorola stopped working. This Blackberry was in my brother's recycling bin. It's free and the zero button works. :-D

I'm doing some googling. Someone made the point that, "The only saving factor is the file name is date/time of photo creation."

That's right, my file name is: "IMG00003-20111102-1229.jpg"

What a stooopid device.

OK...

I just snapped three pics in succession.

The first one shows the time stamp which belongs to the previous pic I took & uploaded for this thread.

The next two have reasonable EXIF, but it probably belongs to the previous pic in each case.

I suppose that the next photo I take will have the EXIF which belongs to the last of the three pics I just took.

So, if I want to enter a shot at DPC, I will have to take at least two, in order to jog the EXIF forward. >:-(

Still, it's like the Blackberry is forging the EXIF.

Surprising the forensics people I found by googling the problem didn't figure out what was going on, if it's the same in their cases.
