Now I'm just waiting 'til it gets here tomorrow. I have to turn in my loaner tomorrow, too, so I'll be traveling down to Hot 'lanta. Maybe I can get in a photoshoot or two.

I decided to go with the 70-200 f/2.8 L IS instead of the non-IS. It should fit my business needs better.

Thanks to everyone that offered their experiences with both the lens and with 17th Street Photo (where I ordered the lens) and if any of you need any portraits done . . . oh yeah. Sorry. ;^)

Congrats! You will definitely not be disappointed that you decided to go with the IS version... and I think you would have regretted getting the non-IS version down the road...

I just got my 100-400mm L IS yesterday, todays shots are importing, also got a 2x converter to go with it.

Anyone with this lens on the rebel feel like it is a bit too heavy for it?

Lynn, I absolutely love my 100-400mm L IS ... it does feel a bit heavy for the Rebel, but I hold it by the lens and not the body when attached... no probs :-)

Here's pics from this weekend using that lens. The sunset shots are the only ones not taken with the 100-400. San Diego

I'm curious to see how you like the set up with the TC... I've been pondering getting one. I'm also interested to see the shots you get using it and if there is a difference in quality.

Edit: The only pp on those San Diego shots is slight levels and sharpen.
