One more reason to upgrade to a camera with a high shooting / shutter click rate.
I see that having a "rat killing" i/e rodent control, is also an arrestable offence.
It's funny that it's illegal to not pick up your doggy poop, but it's also an offense to "transport feces".
It's easy to see that this place is the seat of the US Federal Government.

This one has been around for awhile, but I still laugh every time I read it.

I find it interesting also that DC Police are on the hook for things that most State Governments have a Game & Fish (i.e. Game Warden) department for. Also all the boating (Harbor) violations. Dang - what a list!

"Fail To Identify Self-Pedestrian"

I'd fail that because I'm not sure exactly what a self-pedestrian is. How different is it from a normal pedestrian?

its failure to identify yourself if you are a pedestrian.

I would interpret it as failure to identify yourself to the pedestrian you hit, and failure to obtain the identity of the pedestrian (provided the pedestrian can cooperate on this).

This article tells of laws on the books in our nation's capital that can earn a citation.
159 reasons not to visit Washington, District of Colombia.

I started to pick out one or two of the more outrageous of the items. Nope, couldn't do it.

Strange doings, indeed, Neil. Thanks for posting this hilarious (in more ways than one) list.

"Bees within 500 ft. of Human Habitation"

I want to see the poor officer who tries to write a ticket. How are they going to hand it to them?

Our elected representatives which we send to be our voice, are those who write the laws in the District of Columbia. There can be local oversight by rule of the constitution. That their laws on the books are so obviously contradictory and archaic, says a great deal about about how little the Congress cares about their oversight of our nation's capital.

The problem is that it's relatively easy to get a law/ordinance passed and on the books, but much more complicated (and less impressive to a lawmakers corporate sponsor and/or constituents) to get one removed.
